Intrinsic Safety training
Course durations are reflective of group sizes between 4 and 15 students.
If there are less students in a group course duration may be reduced by a maximum of 10%.
Therefore, if a class size exceeds 15 students it may be necessary to increase course duration.
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the following statement of attainment:
PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility
Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), therefore they will issue the statement of attainment for this course.
The industry recommendation is that workers conduct this course at least every 3 years.
The key areas covered by this course include:
How to prepare for fire emergencies
How to identify and assess fire situations
How to safely control fire emergencies, where possible
How to use first attack firefighting equipment
How to report workplace fire response
Demonstrate effective use of fire extinguishers
Demonstrate effective use of a hose reel
Demonstrate effective use of a fire blanket
Students will have to carry out various physical practical exercises. Therefore students should be capable of conducting the following activities:
Assessments conducted during face to face training session(s) include both practical tasks/scenarios and written theory assessments.
This course requires a student to be physically able to undertake risk management and use and re-stow initial response equipment.
Both practical (tasks and scenarios) and written theory assessments will be conducted during face to face training sessions.
Students undertaking this course will have to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course
Personal safety equipment must be provided by/for the student and worn during training
Students attending courses at our venues must provide:
Lunch (cafes operate within or close to all of our training venues)
Appropriate clothing (preferably long pants and closed footwear)
The Australian Skills and Qualification Authority (ASQA) requires that students be aware of their rights and responsibilities once they have selected their training provider. By enrolling into any of our courses you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions outlined in our Student Agreement.
Students will be required to show proof of identification at the commencement of the course.
