Group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and Intrinsic Safety Training.

Initial Course:

6 hours face to face training and assessment.

Refresher Course:

4 hours face to face training and assessment.

Important information regarding course durations:

Course durations are reflective of group sizes between 4 and 15 students. 

If there are less students in a group course duration may be reduced by a maximum of 10%. 

Therefore, if a class size exceeds 15 students it may  be necessary to increase course duration.

What are you issued upon completion?

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the following statement of attainment:

  • RIIRIS201D Conduct Local Risk Control

Who issues the certificate?

Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), therefore they will issue the statement of attainment for this course.

How often should the training be done?

The industry recommendation is that workers conduct this course at least every 2 years.

The course includes the following topics:

  • Accessing, interpreting and applying risk management policy and procedures

  • Conducting work-site risk management procedures

  • Conducting and maintaining work-site communication, reporting and recording procedures

  • Identifying and assessing hazards, risks and acceptability of risks and controls

  • Reading, preparing and using work-site safety systems 

  • Identifying unacceptable risk using the acceptable/unacceptable criteria

  • Working with others to determine risk control

  • Assessing and determining consequence and likelihood of potential risk

  • Controlling risk by selecting and implementing the most appropriate treatment

  • Locate and apply relevant risk document, policies and procedures

Assessment Components

Both practical (tasks and scenarios) and written theory assessments will be conducted during face to face training sessions.

Students undertaking this course will have to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

Language, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course

Personal Safety
  • Personal safety equipment must be provided by/for the student and worn during training

Venue Information/Catering

Students attending courses at our venues must provide:

  • Lunch (cafes operate within or close to all of our training venues)

  • Appropriate clothing (preferably long pants and closed footwear)

Student Rights and Responsibilities

The Australian Skills and Qualification Authority (ASQA) requires that students be aware of their rights and responsibilities once they have selected their training provider. By enrolling into any of our courses you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions outlined in our Student Agreement.

Identification Requirements

Students will be required to show proof of identification at the commencement of the course.
