Group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and Intrinsic Safety Training.

Course Duration:
  • Face to Face: 5.5 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
  • Blended Delivery: 4.5 hours (minimum) face to face course – with the addition of 1-hour self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course
  • Online Training with Face to Face Assessment: 25 minutes (minimum) face to face assessment with the addition of 5 hours of self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course
  • Refresher Training: 4 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates
Pre-Course Study Options

Pre-course study for the course is found in the student portal.

Students must have access to a computer, phone, tablet etc. with access to the internet to complete the pre-course study online.

Important information regarding course durations:

Course durations are reflective of group sizes between 4 and 15 students. 

If there are less students in a group course duration may be reduced by a maximum of 10%. 

Therefore, if a class size exceeds 15 students it may  be necessary to increase course duration.

What are you issued upon completion?

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the following statement of attainment:

  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • UETTDRRF06 Perform rescue from a live LV panel
Who issues the certificate?

Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), therefore they will issue the statement of attainment for this course.

How often should the training be done?

It is recommended this training be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.

The key areas covered by this course include:

  • Inspection and placement of rescue equipment

  • Assessing and controlling hazards to rescuer, victim, and others

  • Isolation procedures

  • Maintaining safe approach distances (SAD) appropriate to rescue from live LV panel

  • Removing victim to safe location

  • Involvement of external emergency services

  • Electrical safety information

  • Management of injuries

  • Performing CPR on an unconscious casualty

  • Correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Physical Requirements

Students will have to carry out various physical practical exercises. Therefore students should be capable of conducting the following activities:

  • Conducting a low-voltage panel rescue
  • Performing CPR and defibrillation on an adult casualty
  • Performing CPR on an infant casualty

It is a training package requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

Assessment Components

Both practical (tasks and scenarios) and written theory assessments will be conducted during face to face training sessions.

Students undertaking this course will have to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

Language, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course

Personal Safety
  • Personal safety equipment must be provided by/for the student and worn during training

Venue Information/Catering

Students attending courses at our venues must provide:

  • Lunch (cafes operate within or close to all of our training venues)

  • Appropriate clothing (preferably long pants and closed footwear)

The Australian Skills and Qualification Authority (ASQA) requires that students be aware of their rights and responsibilities once they have selected their training provider. By enrolling into any of our courses you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions outlined in our Student Agreement.

Identification Requirements

Students will be required to show proof of identification at the commencement of the course.
