Intrinsic Safety training
Pre-course study for the course is found in the student portal.
Students must have access to a computer, phone, tablet etc. with access to the internet to complete the pre-course study online.
Course durations are reflective of group sizes between 4 and 15 students.
If there are less students in a group course duration may be reduced by a maximum of 10%.
Therefore, if a class size exceeds 15 students it may be necessary to increase course duration.
Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the following statement of attainment:
Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), therefore they will issue the statement of attainment for this course.
It is recommended this training be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.
The key areas covered by this course include:
Inspection and placement of rescue equipment
Assessing and controlling hazards to rescuer, victim, and others
Maintaining safe approach distances (SAD) appropriate to rescue from live LV panel
Removing victim to safe location
Involvement of external emergency services
Electrical safety information
Management of injuries
Performing CPR on an unconscious casualty
Correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Students will have to carry out various physical practical exercises. Therefore students should be capable of conducting the following activities:
It is a training package requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
Both practical (tasks and scenarios) and written theory assessments will be conducted during face to face training sessions.
Students undertaking this course will have to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete this course
Personal safety equipment must be provided by/for the student and worn during training
Students attending courses at our venues must provide:
Lunch (cafes operate within or close to all of our training venues)
Appropriate clothing (preferably long pants and closed footwear)
The Australian Skills and Qualification Authority (ASQA) requires that students be aware of their rights and responsibilities once they have selected their training provider. By enrolling into any of our courses you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions outlined in our Student Agreement.
Students will be required to show proof of identification at the commencement of the course.
